2026 in Pisticci…21C….

It has been so cosy in my house today. I had planned to light the pellet stove because the forecast was for 11C and it was just under 15C inside. However I was even more motivated when the gas ran out.

But first I went out to the supermarket and fruit and veg stall.

I had to wear my hat again!!

More snow on the mountains…
The Saturday fruit and veg man.

Earlier this morning, just for fun I tried out one of my ridiculously tiny watercolour easels.

Two minute painting of a rose, from a YouTube video.
It is super small and I bought it by mistake.  It came with the teeny tiny sketch book and a clip.

It felt impossible to leave my lovely warm room (21C ) and go to work in the other half of the house.

Eventually I brought my little sketchpad set through and drew an olive tree from a photo on my phone.

( I had been watching videos of Gouache painting all day.)

I added some extra detail with crayons later.

Then, on another video someone said that Gouache looked good on brown paper.

So I found a brown paper sketch book and some old Gouache.( not wasting my good stuff.)

Had to throw most of the paint out as it had gone hard. However as I needed yellow I cut the tube open and dug out a lump of Gouache.
The lump of  yellow Gouache is near the bottom.
Looks okay. Could presumably do better with better medium and paper.

The gas man has just been, but I’ll keep the stove going.

Wine time now. Cosy.

Cheers🍷🍷
