2026 in Pisticci. .. a good day to stay home…..

Almost all night the wind howled and the rain poured down. It was quite noisy as not having double glazing and indeed having gaps down the side of my door the storm seemed very close. However, unlike several years ago it stayed outside.

It kept me awake though. I’m right at the edge of the village……….and there’s  a big tree not far away. But everything seems okay.

After rain off and on all day it finally looks like the sky is empty.

At the end of the street is the big, very flexible tree, and the edge of  the hill.

Today I learned a lot about drawing with caran d’ache crayons. And that you can sharpen them.

Also that, as they are so expensive , you can use the shavings as paint.

I carefully sharpened each crayons so that the shavings fell into the palette. All that’s needed is a wet brush to turn the shavings into watercolour paint.

I used an old sketch book and made up a scene just to see if it was actually possible. It is.

Then I thought I’d take a photo of today’s painting outfit.

The red buttons mean I’m  switched on. My heated gilet works very well.

I  drew another Verona scene. This one definitely needs painted.

I thought that it would be easier to draw this than arches, pillars, rooftops and windows.

It was.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
