2023 in Pisticci…a very satisfactory  day……

I really enjoy sitting outside drinking coffee in the mornings.  My flowers won’t always look as gorgeous  as they do now so I’m making the most of this period. And as I decided that thoughts before coffee are not valid that helps too.

Actually took this photo just now, but looks much the same in the mornings.

It’s not as if I’m a great gardener. I water the plants and when I can get a help I buy some compost and top up the pots. I’ve got more strawberries coming. Yumm! And if I want I could have mint in ice cold water .

This morning I finally cancelled the standing order for printer ink after not having received any for about 2 years. Not before time.!

I was organised for mural painting by 9am so had plenty time to finish the local scene I’ve been working on.

Very satisfactory.

After 2 episodes of Portrait Artist of the Year it was time for a short siesta.

Perfect. Still reading Commissario Brunetti.

While waiting for a lift to work I got quite enthusiastic about some of the shapes around. I’m always looking for something new to paint…or a new way of seeing things.

I like the shapes and shadows here.
Would probably leave out the bin if I painted this …….
Found this strangely attractive…

This afternoons task was to paint a view through a window.

A window in a window
Work so far. Tomorrow will paint Pisticci.

When I got home tonight I changed into my new not very impressive lightweight dungarees. (That should guarantee that I get no visitors😂 )

I’m making the most of these as I was a bit disappointed when they arrived . They’re much thinner than I thought and virtually see through. I suppose you get what you pay for.

However I’ve decided to wear them at home and the fact that they’re really thin is a bonus. I think they might be improved with a few dabs of paint and they are extremely comfy. In fact I’m finding them quite satisfactory.

Don’t think charcoal me is very impressed.

Now I’m very happy to be sitting here with a glass of wine.

Cheers🍷🍷

  1. Like all of your latest photos for paintings, ESPECIALLY the green shade over door. I agree, not the bin. Is your new mural inside the house or outside?
