As it’s nearly February and for no particular  reason I decided to be brave enough to use my washing machine today. I haven’t used it for about three months, since at the end of the cycle the shower basin filled up with water. At the time I realised that I’d been hearing a strange noise in the shower room when water emptied out of the sink. I immediately bought some caustic soda and put it down the sink and shower and then there was no more noise.

However since then I’ve found various reasons why it was always better to just handwash everything. Lately the weather has been such that finding a whole day of sunshine to possibly get soaking clothes dried was not easy.

And my standards of handwashing were not awfully high….

Anyways to cut a long story short. No water came up the drain in the shower today.

Hurray!!!!!

As it was Saturday it was  nice to go up town and have a coffee.

I stopped on the way into town and chatted to someone about the view.

And I bought carrots from the vegetable stall in the piazza. Oh, and wine from the butcher.

Nice way to spend an hour.

Today’s job, or way of passing time, was to make my practice grapevine paintings finished work.

Got the pellet stove on again. ( hopefully it’s drying the washing as well.)

Planning to watch ” Seven Dials” on Netflix tonight as recommended by Victoria Coleman on her vlog.

But now it’s  wine time again.
