2026 in Pisticci….country sports…..

Not the kind of sports involving shooting and fishing,  though there was a type of fishing.

I was out in the countryside this afternoon drinking wine and fishing for corks in a pail of water, throwing painted stones into flowerpots, building a tall tower with scraps of wood and throwing rings made out of hosepipe over some spikes.

It was very funny. I wasn’t very good.

We had to throw rings over these spikes. I got one out of ten tries. Luckily I had an understanding team mate. We came 4th ……out of four.

It’s a beautiful situation with lovely views and I’ve been lucky enough to stay there a few times.

Some friendly dogs.

It’s been a lovely sunny day.

This morning I walked up town and stopped for a coffee on the way back.

Much more cheerful sky.
Still snow on the mountains.
On the way home.
Probably my last artistic coffee for a few weeks

I had been going to take a Sweet William plant in a pot to my friend’s house . But this morning it was looking a bit sad……so I bought strawberries instead and painted the plant.

Used watercolours.
It was fun to do.

( then I planted it in one of my pots.)

Tomorrow I’m hoping for a peaceful day, followed by a good night’s sleep before getting up about 4am on Monday morning.

And I might draw another scene from Verona. I’m enjoying doing that. I think it’s a little like doing a jigsaw puzzle. Quite therapeutic and satisfying.

Made sure I didn’t drink too much wine this afternoon so that I could have a glass when I got home. I like home.

Cheers🍷
