2026 in Pisticci…..looking back……

It’s been a lovely sunny day.

Packing was a bit of a non event as almost all I’m taking will be needed tonight. Hence the 4am start tomorrow. At least I’ve checked that everything fits in my small back pack.

So after some minimal organising and writing of lists I decided that it would be a good idea to catch up with my work diary.

I now have 6 books finished and will be starting the 7th one soon. I still regret that I didn’t start keeping them years ago.

However I managed to find most of the work I’ve done since the end of February and print out the photos.

What a nice variety of work.
This is mostly preparation for going to Verona. There were a lot of experiments not included.

As I was in no hurry I turned to the beginning of the book. It started in January 2025 when I went to Scotland to get cataract  surgery and was about the fun I was having setting up my room in Katy’s  house. In the 4 months I was there I did a lot of interesting small paintings on circular black canvases and discovered neocolours. Then there was the exhibition in Oliveto Lucano , followed by the one in San Mauro Forte. After that I seem to have fitted in several series of paintings including , flowers with scarves, small paintings of Pisticci, the “artist” series, new still lives, a series of charcoal drawings, two murals and various other things.

Hopefully I’ll have interesting new work from Verona and the ” artist” series is not finished. It feels like I’m preparing an exhibition of new paintings.

I went outside to see what was happening earlier when I heard the sound of music close by. I still don’t know what it was. But it was lovely in the sunshine. Everything looks different when the sun shines.

It’s almost as if you can see the heat.
A hopeful cat….
Lavender  is still looking good.

I’m trying not to feel nervous about travelling.  The very nice taxi driver dropped by to wish me a ” Buona Pasqua” and confirm the pick up tomorrow.  That was very reassuring.

So now I’m  having a glass of wine and hopefully at this time tomorrow I’ll be on my way to Scotland and the beginning of a new phase of travelling and minimal adventure.

Cheers🍷🍷
