2026 in Pisticci…doesn’t  take much….

To make me happy.

This morning I went off to the Chinese shop where I bought some frames. And then went in the big supermarket to get a few odds and ends.

It was very hot when I came out and I wanted to get the little bus up the hill. There was a lady standing on the other side of the road under a tree so I asked her when the bus was due. It wasn’t  due for another 10 minutes so she invited me to share the shade under the tree with her. We got chatting while we waited for her friend and the bus. We had met before. Often in Pisticci despite the language and different culture , it feels like there are no barriers to communication.

When we came here more than 20 years ago we couldn’t  believe how open and friendly people were here. That’s  still the case. I hope that I’ve become a little Pisticcese too.

It’s  always lovely to go up town on the little bus.

There was time to go for a coffee, but it was too hot for an Espressino  so I had a cafe crema.

It’s like coffee mousse. Delicious!

My frames were a little disappointing  as instead of glass they had plastic and it’s not as clear. However I framed three of my Verona paintings.

This was from an oil portrait in my apartment. Used neocolours and gouache.
I bought these things in Flying Tiger specially to paint. Was very pleased with the result.
Small collection of painted souvenirs.

After only a two hour lunch break I worked on two little paintings. Not as much fun as drawing with crayons, but one is for a gift and the other will be for sale.

Still quite a lot of work to do.

Now I’m waiting for visitors.

Wine time soon. And an episode of ” Have I got News for you. “.

Cheers🍷🍷
