2026 in Pisticci…sitting in the piazza.

I begun today by deciding to renovate the floor in the shower room. Some of the most worn parts of the floor were looking scruffy, particularly  the light colours.

It wasn’t  a big job. I used left over paint from several weeks ago to repaint some of the designs on the tiles. It took me about 20 minutes.

Then I went out to meet a friend.

In the corsa margherita
In the piazza.

We went for a coffee first, but it was very noisy inside so it seemed like a good idea to go and sit in the piazza under the trees where there was a breeze.

In the meantime the courier had phoned me and asked where I was. I told him the name of the bar and he said that he’d be there in half an hour. ( I intended to go back from the piazza and look for him after half an hour.)

But, it being Pisticci, the delivery van pulled up in front of us after only 10 minutes and I got my parcel.

Once back at the house I varnished the  floor. It took less than 10 minutes. I think it is at least 5 years since I originally painted it using left over paint. I’ve adjusted it once or twice in that time, never spending more than an hour fixing it. I’m quite impressed with its durability. And it cost virtually nothing.

This was the most worn part near the sink. I think it looks pretty good. I was careful to only touch up some colours.
It’s  ridiculous really, but  makes me happy.

I’m waiting for sandpaper….or something similar to arrive before I start work on the metal thing.

As I’m still feeling a bit off now and again  I thought that a bit of therapeutic painting might be what’s needed.

Canvas gessoed black and ready to paint.

I’m  in the mood for some vivid flowers.

But not tonight.

It is to be hot again tomorrow, but dropping down to just above 30C  for the rest of the week.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
