Thanks facebook memories.

I had gone to stay for a few days with a friend who was there learning Spanish. In the olden days when I went places. (Sigh!)

There was a big festival , the name of which I have forgotten. It was a beautiful city and I would love to return.

But the reason I was so excited when I saw this today was that purely by chance the only Russian friend I have was there at the same time and we managed to meet for a coffee

She invited me to visit her any time.

I have been thinking about her a lot in the last few weeks. I hope she’s okay. I haven’t tried to contact her and after seeing Putin’s mad speech last night I ‘m glad I didn’t. I don’t know if she reads my blog , but if she is reading this then I hope she is safe and I am so sad about what is happening in Russia.

After a 5am start today I’ve been busy.

My next commission needed a specially made canvas which I made this morning. And apart from forgetting that there will be 5cms all round which won’t be seen when it’s in the frame, requiring me to start drawing again, it all went fairly well. Tomorrow I plan to draw it properly.

I just had time to do a first coat on my next local scene, before I had to get ready to go out.

So now it’s not really wine time tonight……
