I can’t believe that I am sitting here wearing James’s dressing gown over my clothes and wearing a hat.
I’ve been cold all day today . Cups of tea helped and lying reading on my bed under a fur rug was okay.
Somewhere in my “brain” I decided that I was on my last bag of pellets because maybe next winter there would be no pellets so I needed to conserve the ones I had left.
(I’ve just been and counted . I have 30 bags left. )
Or it’s that outside it’s warm and it feels wrong to light my stove while the sun shines.
Or it’s that I feel guilty being warm while other people freeze.
Like I said , ” nothing that a brain transplant wouldn’t fix.
I lit the stove about an hour ago. Tomorrow it is supposed to be cold, windy and rainy…….so I can have the stove on and be warm all day. Hurray!!
(It’s like this every year at this time….sigh!)
So while lightly shivering I started painting this.
Because I was a bit careless applying acrylic medium I had to remove some dried blobs. I tried sanding them, but that didn’t work. Then I tried using a Stanley knife. That didn’t work. Then I took a Stanley blade on its own and carefully managed to slice the blobs off the canvas. ( I was very careful as I had 5 stitches in my thumb due to an accident with a Stanley knife. )
A rather wonderful side effect of this was that I then tried using just the blade on my window where I had stuck a poster using sellotape and the remains of it were still there after 3 years. Now they’re gone.😀
I managed to get another 8 rough sketches of local scenes done and then decided that was enough for today.
An old friend who was on twitter several years ago and helped me with pricing paintings and some other good advice has died. Although we never met I knew something of his life and he mine’s. I will miss him.
Now for wine and warmth.
