2026 in Verona…what a lovely day …

I wasn’t expecting much today as I had planned some trips to the recycling bins and then a lot of trying to pack too much into my suitcase and extra bag.

Maybe it helped because I was thinking about romanticising my life. (Yesterday’s helpful video.)

So after a trip to the bins I walked to one of my seating spots and then took my time coming back.

And I bravely went into one of my two special bars and had a coffee. ( you’d have to be me to understand why that was brave.)

First lovely thing. I met my neighbour and we admired the way the scaffolding had been hidden .
More Dior cakes and a sparkly cape.
My special sitting place.
The view. Never did go up that hill.
Lovely balcony. Wonder who lives there.
Pastel coloured piazza.
More pretty colours.
In my special bar/ bookshop
My special bar.
At the back of the arena.
More pretty colours
My temporary  little world. There was another party last night, but without the boom boom music.

The packing went as well as expected. I’m able to take everything I want to home.

And my round table has arrived in Pisticci. My lovely neighbour is keeping it for me. It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday. It was so good to hear from her.

And my nice taxi man confirmed that we will see each other tomorrow night.

Including another trip to the bins I headed off for a last walk around, for this time in Verona, and got lost somewhere behind the arena.

And as if by magic I found an art exhibition by a group of hyperrealist artists. One spoke English and it was so very nice to talk about their work.

Amazingly detailed work in oil.

I feel so incredibly fortunate to have stumbled on so many special places this month. It is hard to put into words how amazing it has been.

The special notebook I bought from Temu is almost full. My traveller’s  notebook is full of helpful notes. My phone is full of photos. I’ve 13 paintings and sketches and a head full of ideas and colours.

As I said before, my teenage self is proud of me. ( and surprised. )

Tomorrow  a taxi should pick me up at 8am. And by 8pm I should be home in Pisticci.

Cheers 🍷🍷
