2026 in Pisticci…busy Saturday…..

I was up about 5am again , washed my hair and then sat outside where it was lovely and cool and wrote “stuff” with my lovely fountain pen. I’m  so glad I bought it in Verona. I have enjoyed using it so much. It makes writing anything feel special.

Drinking water with fresh mint from my garden

I didn’t really need anything up town . ( So I bought wine, ice lollies and fizzy orange juice. ) And I took photos which I could use to paint later.

I’ve painted the first one
Looking towards the church
I love this view. The shapes of the roofs are lovely
There were lots of cars in the piazza. I think that it was so hot that it was more pleasant to drive to the fruit stall.

I had a go at making a wall between my round table and my cooker. Even using an old speaker I was still a brick short. So I found an old container and some flowers.  It’ll  do for now. ( There’s  not much of a fire risk as only one ring on the cooker works.)

Wanted some separation between table and cooker
The flowers, despite being artificial, look lovely with the bricks and wooden tray.

I spent rather a long time working on another  small painting. Maybe I chose a subject that was too complicated.

15x15cms.

It was pretty bold of me to attempt this subject. However when it’s so small it is quite good fun to paint.

The big metal panel left last night on top of a car.

Off to its  new home in the country.

Today is , according to the Internet,  supposed to be the hottest day. By Tuesday or Wednesday it should be back to more normal.

I’ve moved the aircon to my work room so that the hose can go out the letter box. It looks much neater.

It’s  great to have my space back.

I watched part of a black and white episode of Maigret last night, but was too tired to see the end. Maybe I’ll watch the rest now.

Cheers 🍷🍷
