2026 in Pisticci…Last portrait for now …

But have enjoyed doing these so much that I ordered six 40x40cm canvases which may or may not arrive on Sunday.

The last 5 were 30x30cms. Am getting more ambitious.

It was good to finish the last one and then post them all on Facebook.

It’s the expression I like. When I first started painting portraits about 30 years ago that was what I was interested in. I think I’d love to take my own photos….but then I’d have to ask people ………

I enjoyed sitting outside again this morning. I spent some time considering my attitude to learning Italian, changing my life, inviting people to my house and various other things. I have a small plan now.

Last night, which was what lead to the introspection this morning, was not one of my best moments.

I fell asleep and woke up at 10.30pm. The event was supposed to start at 10pm so it shouldn’t really have been a problem as most things start late. However I rushed out in a slightly dazed state and arrived to find the piazza completely full to bursting. It was still very hot and I was not planning to stand around for hours. So I spoke to a couple of Italian friends while still half asleep, took some photos, came home, turned on my fan and went to bed.
