It felt hotter today.

I sort of slept in this morning and missed my pleasant hour outside. By 7am it was not cool any longer.
It didn’t help that I was woken up regularly last night, possibly by noises from upstairs and definitely by the sound of a painting above my head banging against the wall thanks to the fan blowing it about.
However this morning I had an idea about how to make one of my home made leather book covers look better and spent a pleasant half hour making a big improvement. ( It still isn’t by any means professional, but I like to think it’s like home made scones which I think are much nicer because they’re not entirely regular shapes.)

After this I worked on finishing yesterday’s painting. That took some time.

I looked out a couple of times and it was quite scarily hot.

Am so glad that although it has been fairly warm all summer this is the only time I’ve felt slightly worried. But as I could stay home and cool, and I have a large supply of ice lollies, it was okay.
This afternoon I found a short interview with the daughter of my absolutely favourite author ” Miss Read”. Her first book in the series about Fairacre was published the year I was born. I must have read them all a minimum of 10 times. I envy anyone who is just starting to read them for the first time. What a treat they have in store. Maybe I’ll start again for the 11th time. I have them all upstairs……
But for now, it’s wine time.
And tonight I’ll take that banging painting down before I go to bed.

Cheers🍷🍷
