2026 in Pisticci  ….weather in my house….

It has been a horrible windy wet day. So windy that I think a big branch has broken of the tree nearby and my chair had to be rescued from the end of the street.

( Compared to some Italian weather this is nothing much.)

However I prefer my weather outside.

This morning as I sat at the round table working on my Verona project I could feel the wind blowing through the gaps in the door. The curtain between the two parts of my house was also blowing out into the room.

You can see the curtain blowing .

First of all I taped up all the gaps around the window and door and recycled some amazon packaging by jamming it in the biggest gap at the side of the door.

Then I blocked up the post box gap.

Looks a bit like a badly wrapped package…..

Having done that I thought that I’d get on with some painting work  ……that was until I saw that water was spreading across the floor coming from under the door..

I’ve nearly run out of towels now. There are two small rugs rolled up attempting to contain the water, but it has stopped raining, hopefully for the rest of the day.

I keep wringing out the towel.
Earlier outside.
The tree didn’t  use to be that shape.

Seemed like a good idea to see if my pellet stove was working.

It worked
Trying to dry some of the towels incase I need them again.

I’ve ordered some sandbags from Amazon. Unfortunately  they arrive without any sand.

However this is not a regular problem . Only when the wind is blowing the rain in this direction.

I probably won’t open the door again until spring. And gradually I’ll  plug the gaps.

There wasnt much art work done today, but I did have a lovely visit from a kindred spirit who bravely walked through rain and wind to get here.

Wine time now.

Glad my stove worked.

Cheers🍷🍷

Hopeful face…..
