2021 in Pisticci…..my first owl and fox

It was to be the last full day of mural painting. A perfect day…especially for January. No wind, sunshine and relatively warm.

My first job today was to fix the calanche….which was much darker than anything else. It now blends in much better. Next there was some tidying up edges and adding two tiny crosses to the church.

Followed by the scariest bit which involved being quite high up my ladder to change the background in San Rocco’ s gold headpiece. I got someone to hold the ladder for me….but I was glad when it was finished.

That was followed by a little tidying up before I began on my first owl. I am very pleased with it. It has a lot of attitude!!! It was painted quickly as were most of the things I have done as there was always a rush because of the weather or it getting dark.

I was expecting just to finish the owl this afternoon, but instead found myself painting my first fox. It has been a great confidence boost this whole experience. My first fox looks not bad….it needs a little more work, though not much.

I am home now and fairly exhausted. It looks like we will need one more day to finish completely. That’s OK with me.

It’s been a great experience and I am so glad I was asked to be part of it.

Now I plan to eat roasted cheese, carrot and potato chips and drink wine while watching the cool guy who presents ” Grand Designs” New Zealand.

Happy Saturday evening. 🍷🍷🔥

My very first owl painting.
Less intrusive calanche
San Rocco…. the final version.
The main mural which is finished
Nearly finished fox.
Still my favourite…..
