It was more by luck than intent that I woke up at 5.30am today.

It seemed like the right thing to do would be to get up and carry on editing  my 2020 diary. Fitting it in during the day was not happening . I didn’t  really want to do it early so I could get it over with ….because I was supposed to be enjoying it….however it needs finished. 

By 6am I was sitting at my table near the stove and deciding I would read what I had written so far. To my surprise it’s okay. I read right up to where I had stopped editing and it makes sense. Hurray!

I have set my alarm for 5.30am every week day.

While I was mural painting all ” my stuff” was let go and since I have so many commissions just now it seems important to do some things that are important to me.

Like drawing on my tablet.

This morning it was too cold so I came back inside and inadvertently painted the sunshine coming in the window. It took about 20 mins I think.

Then I had a commission to get on with. I worked on that for most of today with a little break to adjust a drawing on another work to do .

Sometimes a drawing gets quite complicated when I am working from 3 photos and using a head from one, a body from another and the pose from another. However I think it looks okay.

Now the painting I did today is nearly ready. It includes an olive tree which I used a natural sponge dipped in paint to make the leaves. It works well I think and it makes a good base so that I can then dab on little highlights etc. I would never have the patience to paint all the leaves and I don’t know how to do it any other way.

Tonight I thought I would drink wine from a glass I bought in Florence at an antiques market. It ‘s pretty. (.and twice the size of my normal one. )

I am not planning to go out this week as there are more cases of the virus in Pisticci again and we are being told to stick to the rules and be careful. As I have lots of work to do then it suits me to to stay home.

It’s cosy tonight with the stove on even though the window is open. Feeling quite content…….🍷🍷
