I sort of think that the internet and my phone are magic.I think it started a long time ago before smart phones etc. I was on my first holiday on my own and taking a day trip to Turkey from Kos. I was just thinking that no one in the world knew where I was. I was on a ferry full of strangers. There was a beep on my phone. It was a text saying ” welcome to Turkey” ( from vodafone) It really did happen just like that. People around me must have wondered why I was laughing.

Today I finally responded to the little helper thingy where you speak to your phone and it answers you. I told it to turn on my torch and “voila”, a voice said , ” your torch is turned on. ” I am easily impressed.

This morning when I was sitting on the pavement painting a planter a car slowed down and a man I didn’t recognise smiled and blew me a kiss, then drove on. That impressed me too.

Today I painted more cacti and a little bird. I left early as I had a client coming to look at paintings. ( no, they weren’t!)

It’s easy to have an exciting life when you don’t speak the language so well and consequently are surprised by what happens.

Now I have another 3 portrait commissions.

I managed to paint a blue line round the top of my desk while I was waiting.

I’m quite pleased with the result.

However I am delighted that now I have a ” sort of” work bench in my gallery. It occurred to me that sawing on a table would be more comfortable than sitting on the floor. And it was . I made a 50x60cm stretched canvas which now has a quick portrait sketch on it, ready to start painting

My house is feeling good. Very organised.

And now I have to go out and meet a friend for a glass of wine.
