2021 in Pisticci….pretty blue shadows

I got up early this morning to do some washing and start painting by 8am.

Most of the day I’ve worked on two portraits of children.

Yesterday I got all organised at the desk next to the stove.

Today , after about an hour I realised that I couldn’t see well enough when I was using an easel as it was blocking the light.

When I paint watercolours , the paper is flat on the table so the light is fine.

I moved back through to my cold workroom and turned on a portable gas heater.

I could have turned the desk around or changed a few things , but it’s my living room and I didn’t want to mess it up. I like my work room ….just not being cold.

It worked okay and now that I’ve swapped my outside table with the gas heater as something to prop my tablet on it will be better. ( was afraid I would either burn my leg or melt my tablet when the gas fire was turned on. )

To reward myself for working hard I thought I’d go for a small walk and take some photos , which was when I saw the lovely blue shadows and thought how lucky I was to be an artist as I am fairly sure I never noticed shadows till I started to paint.

Even managed to get my own shadow in this
More shadows
New use for garden table.

It was a beautiful time of afternoon to go out .

Up by the little church. May paint this

The church and the castle.

Wine time now ….and it’s Saturday evening. I think I have some cheese in the fridge for a treat.

Cheers 🍷🍷🧀
