I took these photos about 20 minutes ago and now there is heavy rain and even stronger winds than previously.

There has been a cold wind all day.

It’s been a good day to be inside and working on making a new canvas for a new portrait commission for someone who dropped in this morning.

To begin with today I tidied up my work room and cleaned my palette. I was putting off writing a short story which was my plan for the morning.

When I eventually finished cleaning I made myself sit down at the desk with my laptop.

Yesterday on Five live Science I heard a psychologist say (approximately) the secret to getting on with stuff is to” do it badly”. I thought that was a bit strong , but decided to give it a try.

I didn’t write a short story ,but I did witter on for nearly 1000 words. Interesting……

Might just keep on going until an idea pops into my head…. or not.

So I haven’t started my new series of local scenes ,but I’ve saved them onto my tablet, along with the photo I’ll be using for the new portrait which I sharpened up using my new app. (REMINI) What a difference it makes.

Now it’s nice to be inside with the stove burning , candle lit and wine to hand.
