2022 in Pisticci….I wasn’t expecting that!

Waking up in the middle of the night in my nicely arranged bed in my cool gallery I sat up and my back sort of collapsed again. Exactly like it did last year after my second vaccine.

I don’t exactly know how to describe it , but it was very lower back and made my legs feel a bit wobbly.

I was “*******” horrified!. Last summer my back problem lasted several months. Then I was okay ,but not like before. It’s only recently that I’ve relaxed and felt sort of bouncy again.

So it definitely wasn’t a side effect of the vaccine.

And it very likely was due to my rather ancient bed sofa. I thought that I’d fixed it by putting a plank of wood up the middle so that it didn’t sag so much , but maybe the reason the problem didn’t resolve quicker last year was because I kept sleeping on it all summer.

That, and painting about 20 benches!!

After cancelling my trip to Bernalda .( sorry, Marianne) I decided that I’d better go back to sleeping upstairs on the mattress on the floor and took the big fan and plugged it in there. It gets very hot in the summer which is why I had moved into the gallery.

Then I found paracetamols, the muscle repairing pills left over from last year and prepared to lie about .

I got bored.

That was when I remembered that I had a single mattress underneath the bed sofa.

I very carefully dragged it out. It is very lightweight. With a bit of careful pushing and pulling I made the bed into a sofa again.

Now the single mattress is easily pulled out and if upstairs gets too hot I have a cool alternative.

Spot the mattress?

I thought that I might as well work on my latest painting and found as long as I sat up straight I was okay.

Need to change some of the colours but am pleased with the scooter

I’m planning to sleep upstairs again tonight in the hope that I’ll be back to normal by next week.

And in the meantime I took some photos of my flowers which are looking so good right now.

Oleanders
I like the mix. There is mint in there and strawberries in the yellow box.

It’s been another beautiful day outside.

Am glad it’s time for wine. Have my fingers crossed that I won’t spend this Sumner feeling like a very old lady.

Cheers 🍷🍷
