2022 in Pisticci….” do more of what makes your soul happy”

That is what is written on a little coffee cup I bought in Parma several years ago. And when I arrived home a couple of hours ago the little cup was sitting on stone James where I had stupidly left it 2 weeks ago. In that time there has obviously been high winds and heavy rain and it survived and was not blown off and smashed. So it deserves a mention……and being in a muddledy mood right now it’s something good to believe.

After a 12 hour “journey” …. and that included a lot of hanging around and a 4am start I’m home. That is pretty good compared to journeys where I have had to stay overnight or include a 6 hour train journey . Thanks Ryanair for the new route from Bari to Edinburgh.

I arrived about 4.30pm ( thanks to a friend picking me up near Pisticci) to this view.

My kind neighbour watered my flowers.

Then I opened the door and to my surprise there was a very big painting lying on the floor and then when I went through to my other room the panel hiding the washing machine was lying on the floor.

It fell off the top of the wardrobe.
Must have been strong winds downs the chimney.

It is impressive that my little cup survived outside.

I’ve now brushed the floors, dusted, watered the flowers and I think that’s me settled in again.

Unpacking was minimal, but I introduced my sentimental trainers to their replacement and I am still wearing the pink sandals I got for my birthday. ( I changed at the airport .)

There is a lovely breeze tonight and I am completely screened by oleanders and various other plants in my private little haven.

I’m glad I have another trip planned in September , but I’m so glad to be home and me again.

Cheers 🍷🍷
