When I got up this morning I was a bit alarmed to see that it was 35C inside. I also noticed that the sun was shining directly on my thermometer. I moved it to the other side of the room where after an hour or so it was only 32C. (I was secretly hoping for a much bigger drop so that I could tell myself that it wasn’t really so hot after all….but it obviously is.)

I’m sitting outside now and there are clouds

Today my next commission arrived. I will be painting on metal.

I painted the approximate colour on the 2 big panels I’m working on and stared some more at the reference photo in the hope that I would know what to do next.

Somehow that took up most of the day.

Apart from an hours reading on the sun lounger.

There was also a phone call with a like minded friend for a mild rant about stuff happening in the UK.

I think my towel and fan arrangement is working a bit. My eyes weren’t sore today. I thought that I’d read up why it helps on Google, but frankly I still don’t really understand.

My mosquito repellent arrived today so hopefully I will be safe from any more bites. I also got a tiny sort of zapping thing which is supposed to help with any bad bites. It makes a very satisfying noise. A bit like popping bubble wrap.

I forgot all about going for a walk today and I can’t think of any reason I need to go out.

So I suppose I’ll just sit here and drink wine.
