I hadn’t realised how bad things were in the north of Italy because of the lack of rain.

We are due rain and a storm in the next days and then a drop in temperatures for maybe a week.

It’s been a long tired day with sore eyes.

Have spent a considerable  time on my sun lounger reading which doesn’t make my eyes sore.

I think the commission I’m  working on is proving a little complicated and there is a lot of it . It feels like the big poppy painting which turned out really well , but which I had to do a little bit at a time so as not to be overwhelmed.

Tomorrow  my plan is to paint a sunflower. I’m looking forward to that.

It’s also hard to concentrate when so much is happening in the UK.

There is also the question of the solitary strawberry. Will I eat it now or leave it one more day?

It’s too hot to sit outside tonight .

Am trying to remember to blink more often. My eyes were dry ,but not so sore last year. Hopefully a week of lower temperatures will help.

There were more than 1000 new cases of covid in Basilicata today and 41 in Pisticci.

After a rather quiet day a glass of wine is a very nice treat.
