I suppose that is literally true, but not in the way you might think. Tonight ‘s entertainment is a demonstration using big scary birds to do things. As a person who is scared of feathers and who’s greatest act of courage was to briefly let a budgie perch on my hand, then big swooping birds are so not my thing.

I may or may not be skulking inside incase one flies by and thinks my head would make a suitable place to land. I think that one year one landed on a friend’s head.

However it is as usual the hottest time of the day. And I have a fan nearby which I am sharing with my laptop.

Today I’ve spent mostly planning my next portrait commission. It’s been a lot of fiddly work . Hopefully I can begin for real tomorrow.

There will be fireworks in the morning I hope. The traditional start to August. And some people will have stayed up all night.

I thought briefly that it was going to rain…..

Now it’s wine time and the end of another week.
