But it all began in the normal way.
I woke up about 5.30am and decided I wanted to be outside with a coffee when the August 1st fireworks went off at 6am.
It was quite exciting in a mild sort of way. There were a crowd of young people up by the castle who might have been there all night.

There was lots of cheering when the fireworks eventually begun.

I thought it was funny that I was better at getting up early to be part of the celebrations than I was at staying up late and going to all the other events.
Not long after the fireworks stopped , the brass band started up.

I thought that the band photo was one of the best photos I’ve taken recently.
It was a good start to my day.
I had thought that today I would be starting to paint the last 15 of my local scenes……..
But instead I was working all day on a new portrait commission with 5 people. After a lot of preparation yesterday, I have now drawn in pencil all 5 faces and the background. Am pleased with the day’s work. I enjoyed it.
I’m not too sure where I go next tomorrow. May need to try a practice piece on another sheet of paper to see how it will look if I add ink and colour.
My diary is caught up from last week. I’ve been keeping a photographic work diary for over a year. I’m nearly finished my 3d book.
I have evidence that I’ve been busy.
Now I want a glass of wine and some cool air. At least one of these things is easily available.
Cheers🍷🍷
