2022 in Pisticci…fairytales and balconies…..

With some portrait  painting in the middle.

But to start with today I sat  out in the street drinking coffee and reading  fairytales. To be honest I didn’t really notice the illustrations by David Hockney as I was so horrified by the actual stories.

Yesterday I read, ” The little sea hare” and today ” Fundevogel”.

In the first one there were 97 heads cut off and stuck on posts.

In the second the cook was going to boil one of the children.

Can’t wait to see what the others are like!

Was a bit chilly

Then I watched 3 short videos on portrait painting before I started to paint. At one point all I could see was painted marks….but later on when I smiled back at the person in the painting I thought it might be going okay after all.

My small paintbrushes arrived just in time to begin work again on my latest local scene. The paint on the palette is drying very quickly despite my wet paper towel and baking paper arrangement. It’s murder on my brushes.

However, what seems like 50 balconies later I am nearly finished.

Might need some tweaking.

Now it looks like I have another 2 commissions.

And another portrait next week.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
