2026 in Pisticci…found my joy again…..

That is in relation to painting.

It happened yesterday after a couple of glasses of wine and having watched a video featuring David Hockney and his Ipad paintings.

I had already painted a sheet of watercolour paper black. So I sat down and drew a rather squint window with flowerpots on the window sill. It made me feel happy. Just drawing with crayons.

I just made it up. But it was so much fun to do.

Today, minus wine, I thought that I’d paint  a piece of handmade paper black and chose a relatively  simple view of Verona then see what happened if I used crayons and gouache.

Just the neocolour crayons
After adding some gouache.

I’m a bit impressed that this is now what I consider a relatively simple view. However I love this and I enjoyed painting it.

Have now painted black another 8 sheets of the same paper.

I love the texture and rough edges.

Apologies to all non artists reading that. It was probably as exciting as discussing Katy’s protein powders. ( Which she never inflicted on me.)

I had a lovely walk into town and came back a different way.

Beautiful  misty morning.
In the piazza
Looking down the corsa.
Left over from Christmas?
That house needs a haircut!!

Just one more little arty bit. My new crayons arrived today. So now I have everything I need .

Neocolour crayons and gouache. Have extra in my traveller’s notebook.
Neat and organised.

I spotted the first poppy in my street today.

Good thing I don’t  do much weeding…..

Wine time now I think.

Cheers🍷🍷
