2026 in Verona… 14% wine….

Last time I went shopping I saw this wine.

I think it’s from Basilicata.

It was only when I got it home that I noticed it was 14%!

It wasn’t much more expensive than the last bottle I bought which was 12.5%. Am wondering if I drink less of it then that will be more economic. I like it best so far. The bottle with the lovely roses which I painted was a big disappointment.  The others have been okay. Nothing as good as my €2.50 bottle from the butchers in Pisticci.

This month was supposed  to be a sort of reboot. All sorts of things are coming up.

I’ve decided that I need a round table in my house in Pisticci. Also this apartment is so elegant and proper that I may have to upgrade my little house. Ive  been meaning to paint the outside. ( If I can get up early enough and do it while no one is looking. I’ll be doing it my way. And no one will approve.  )

I’m  appreciating all the extra time I seem to have here. Spending some of it watching helpful videos, like the one that said to “expect less.”

I haven’t walked as much for years. ( Can’t help thinking that it’s  so much easier when it’s flat. )

I’m  eating different food and loving it. Having decided that I’d  rather stay for a month and not eat out than 2 weeks and eat out. ( who am I kidding ! I can’t  even go into a crowded bar far less eat by myself in a restaurant.) So that wasn’t  really an option.

One of the other videos I watched mentioned “living a unique life at your own speed.” I’ve found that very cheering too.

I’ve been thinking if I would like to do this again. I wondered about Sicily. I’ve often wanted to go there. I’d like to find a medium sized town on the coast. I like being by the sea.

I wondered about next year and then I remembered  how old I am. I think in 4 or 5 months quiet living in Pisticci I could easily save enough money to do this again.

Will see.

Today, when I went out there were even more people out and most of them wearing blue tee-shirts. In my favourite cafe I asked the barista what was happening.  He said it was a sort of fun run and nearly all the Veronese took part.

Everywhere I went there were runners walking.

They were coming over the bridge.

I stopped at my favourite sitting place for about 20 minutes and runners kept passing.

At the back…
Was trying to take a photo of the sunshine on  the orange building. Not sure if that guy was a runner.
More runners passing.

This afternoon I read a bit and then finished the sketch I began yesterday.

I love this. Done entirely  with crayons as crayons. No faffing around with water. On handmade paper.

I popped out for a quick walk about 4.30pm . So many people about. Popped into the craft market. Beautiful stuff. Then I studied people’s  clothes on the way home to see what stood out. Colours , I think.

Wine and Sunday vlog time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
