2026 in Verona…normal life….

Just remembered that I was awake for about two hours in the middle of the night.

Which would explain why I’m feeling a bit weary now.

What kept me awake was worrying that when I got home to Pisticci I wouldn’t  like my little house. I made a folder on my phone with photos to reassure myself.

It was incredibly quiet at 2am. No people, no cars, nothing at all. Pisticci is noisier with frogs and dogs and other assorted wildlife.

This morning I took my empty wine bottles to the recycling bin. I was very careful not to clink all the way along the street. Watched too many films where a woman is condemned and frowned on as she clinks to the bins.

Then I went out again with the organic bag and after dropping it off headed for another bridge.

However  this time I decided that it looked a bit boring and sat down in amongst some roses instead.

Might paint  this.

It was shady and peaceful.

I was just going to go home, but took a small detour and found another art shop. Not a proper one, but with lots of interesting things.

This is reference  for my next painting.
I liked the flowery basket.
Fantastic colours.

This afternoon  I drew the scene for my next painting.

Not so much detail.
Will need to get the shadows right.

Both my propelling pencils have run out of lead so I went to Flying Tiger and bought 5 ordinary pencils  for a euro.

I didn’t hang about for long afterwards.

I like being in the apartment.  There is usually something to see from the windows. It’s warm and comfortable. And interesting.  ( more on that when I get home. )

Now it’s wine time. (And today my phone has made friends with the WIFI here. Weird.., but grateful.)

Cheers🍷🍷
