2026 in Verona…a sad start…..

It’s  getting near the end of the most inspiring holiday I’ve ever had. To book a month in a strange city and stay there by myself was quite adventurous for me. I wasn’t sure that I’d  be okay. It would have been easy to get a train home if I was not happy.

This morning it was not surprising, I suppose ,that I would feel sad.

However after a few texts and ordering a round table from Amazon I was quite cheered up. ( I may be quite shallow….)

A round table has been significant here. I’ve  been painting at the round table in the bedroom, with two doormats cut to fit the top, next to the window. I’ve painted places that matter to me and various other subjects.

I’ve eaten breakfast and watched helpful videos at the round table in the kitchen and I’m sitting here writing this now.

Today was the day I returned to the art shop. It was so nice to talk art with the lovely lady who runs it. I bought the last special set of  neocolours .

Gorgeous  colours.

And she liked my new top I bought in the market. To be complimented by an Italian is special.

Tiny shop, but full of proper art stuff.

She’ll be in my book.

I didn’t feel like staying in so I went off to sit by the river near the castle.

It was shady as well as pretty.
It got quite crowded.  This was just after more people left.
Cool shadows
View from the bridge.
The bark on the trees is actually almost the same colour as the bridge.

So I fixed it with one of my new colours.

It’s  great to be able to make my own souvenirs.

This afternoon I started a new sketchy painting.

A scene from my apartment.

There might be a storm tonight. In the meantime I went out for half an hour and found the film makers again.

These two were actors
Not sure if the boys on bikes were part of it.
All set up.

A nice thunderstorm would be very welcome as it’s  very hot.

Cheers 🍷🍷
