It’s strange that often when I decide to do something particular the next day then I can’t sleep. It feels like I’m  at war with myself.

Today was the day I intended to start working on the metal panel.

I spent some time covering up the sides, carefully sanded it then painted it with a special primer.

Then I discovered a slight problem. Without going into details I was able to fix it with several ice lolly sticks and some alcohol based cleaner. It took me an hour. Perhaps you can see the potential problem?

Anyways now I’ve painted a first coat of gesso and am leaving it to dry until tomorrow.  Then I might draw the scene. I have some extra paint ordered which should arrive at the weekend.

There was quite a long thunderstorm and showers this afternoon.

I found some time to do some more work on the flower painting.
