I had a lovely time last night when I went out.
Not as I expected.
First I decided to take a detour and avoid the horrid steps where I had a trip.

Near the piazza I looked in an open door and inside it was so beautiful. In Pisticci you are often surprised by what is behind the door.

That was the first lovely thing.
Then I met a friend and their family and in my composed state was perfectly friendly and not my usual shy and awkward self.
(Years ago I decided that I was never going to be confident …..but I could be composed . In the last year or two I forgot about this as I was a bit overwhelmed by feeling old. However I think I’ve got it back. )
Then in the corso I came on a large group of young people singing and dancing to music. I’d have loved to join in.

On the way home I passed an older lady and remembered that I’d promised to get her some Scottish money so I went home, got some , and took it to her. I think it was about two years ago I sat with her and chatted which was when she talked about the foreign money. Better late than never.
I completely missed the procession, but it didn’t matter.
Today I made myself a souvenir.

I’ve tried to paint this sort of scene before. The lights are very tricky to paint.
Am not sure if I will go out tonight. There is very little likelihood of me staying until the carriage and horses arrive . This is the night when there is an auction to buy seats in the carriage. It often costs more than ten thousand euros.
Did you know there is such a thing as a ” paper community”? Apparently so. However I learned that the way Ive been using a notebook could be called a zibaldone, which was used in Italy in renaissance times .
Cool!
Now it’s wine time. It nearly rained today.
Cheers🍷🍷
