2026 in Pisticci… door sealed for winter.

Well, nearly…..

Yesterday I put tape across all the gaps around the door. Today I used masking tape down the middle. Then I painted it , which made me feel very particular.

I’ve now ordered some wider tape to do the bottom half .

This morning I washed all the towels and rugs used to to soak up the water yesterday.

I’ve rolled up one of these rugs to use as a draught excluder. I had thought of making one out of old clothes, but this was quicker. And it looks nice.

Went shopping and got the bus back up the hill.

Mixed weather.
I only knew there was a saint in the tree when some years ago my guests were lost and told me they were in the car park with a saint in a tree.
Blue skies

The paintings I found at the back of the cupboard will be collected this month. That was a nice surprise.

My kind hosts from Oliveto Lucano have offered to collect me from Pisticci  so I can take lots of painting stuff. What a treat!

I finally put the stretchers together for the next big painting.

May need to adjust with a hammer the middle stretcher as it looks a bit squint ….

I’ve been putting off getting the canvas ready to paint as I’m not that fond of crawling around and contorting myself to get the canvas tight enough.I got a sore leg the last time. (Might need to find my knee supports.)  Also the stapler doesn’t  like me and usually stops working just before I’m about to put in the last few staples.

It feels wintery today. ( though it’s  all relative.) But it means I get to wear my long quilted coat. Not cold enough for my favourite corduroy one yet….but it will come.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
