Woke up this morning feeling a bit fed up. I think it’s a multitude of things causing me to feel low, but it’s harder to deal with when there are no distractions…… like people!!!

However after going back to bed to keep warm for half an hour I decided that I must absolutely paint something….anything at all. I had 2 canvases all ready which I made out of left over wood and off cuts of canvas.

And I got started. It is fun to cover the canvas with left over paint to begin with. It usually helps to get me in the mood. This time I didn’t even draw the scene first.

I am also enjoying the audiobook which I listen to while painting. Now I’m about a third of the way through the painting. So I will have something to do tomorrow. Hurray!

My little stove has been burning away all day but it’s cold, windy and damp outside so have resorted to wearing a hat inside. I haven’t sealed up the door this year as I have been using it. Last year I taped it up and put the table across it making it into only a window. It’s a bit draughty inside.

Today there were a lot more cases of the virus in Basilicata.( over 100) And I think 7 people died. I am glad to be staying at home for the next 4 days.

I did go out shopping and bought another melon and pineapple. I also bought ingredients to make a fake pizza which I haven’t made since I lived in my little artist’s house. Obviously the pineapple is not going on the pizza 🙄.

It’s been a nice day. Painting almost always makes me feel good.

Tomorrow I have some end of the year stuff to do including making a new profile photo. None of the ones I am currently using are up to date. It seems like a good idea to start a new year with a new me. This could prove tricky as I am both quite vain and relatively honest.

Should be interesting.

Now it’s wine time and am nearly warm . 🍷
