It’s been a long day as I woke up about 3am and didn’t really sleep again. Got up about 5.30am after spending some time making some of my paintings into Christmas cards. Thanks to Moonpig I have now sent 3 cards. That’s 3 more than last year.

Part of the reason for being awake was that I have a lot of work to do before Christmas. I was a bit worried.

However by 8am I was started painting backgrounds on 3 small portraits. I decided that as I was a bit tired that I would just paint the easy bits.

So I was getting on rather better than expected when my phone rang . It was the courier telling me he would be arriving at the steps in a few minutes. I couldn’t remember what I might have ordered ,but I would probably remember when I saw the box.

It was a very big box and I was a little puzzled.

I carried it back to my house It was quite exciting, but I kept telling myself that it would be something really boring that I had forgotten about.

That was a little worrying as I wondered if I had ordered something from Amazon in the middle of the night when my resistance was low.

I opened the box.

In it was a smaller box.

I opened the smaller box.

What a very lovely surprise. It was a Christmas gift from a friend. What a treat. Chocolate,cake and fizzy wine.

And am glad that I am not ordering things from Amazon in the middle of the night.

After that I was not tired any more.

One portrait is almost finished and the other two have the backgrounds almost done.

And I have another commission thanks to the market.

Feeling very fortunate indeed.
