2026 in Pisticci…big canvas made….

I started about 8am and it took me about an hour and a half to finish stapling the canvas.

I’ve now marked it in squares to help me draw the scene and have done a wash.

Big canvases are a bit scary to make. There’s  a lot that could go wrong. However my stapler behaved in a reasonable manner today which helped.

I decided to do it in my gallery and moved the table more or less out of the way.
Canvas cut and ready to go.
Phew!!! ( having never seen myself as a very practical person I am always relieved  when something goes well.)
Ready to draw the scene .

It was good to get this far. I feel that I’ve  caught up with myself.

I was so happy that the bin men took away one of my big black bags of stuff I am throwing out. It will probably take me until Christmas  to get rid of everything.

This afternoon  I painted the  face of my next portrait.

It’s  not exactly sticking to the plan of painting my stuff in the afternoons, but there is a problem with masking tape.

I’ve wanted to use my new fude pen, so found a photo from a walk in Scotland and went for it.

I like working here.
The reference photo and my cool pen.
Took about 25 minutes to draw this. I’m  learning how to make different  effects.

Am now planning to go back to Scotland in March as Katy is having an event and I’d like to be there.

So plenty of time for another short Italian  trip.

Am glad to have made the canvas. It was bothering me.

Wine time now.

Cheers🍷🍷
