It’s thunder outside again. Not much rain so I have watered my flowers. That will likely guarantee a massive shower any time now. .

Most of today has been sunny and warm and I put off going to the supermarket because it was too hot. I have plenty wine so no emergency.

As my back is still causing me problems I wasn’t in the mood to start a big painting . But I had 2 leftover canvas boards to practice painting loosely on.

“Loosely” was mostly ignored as I pretty much just did what I always do. Except that I chose to paint my small oleander in front of my painted wall just for fun.

I didn’t know if it would work , but I am really pleased with the result and happy with myself for giving it a go.

At the same time I found a scene from the end of my street and thought it would be good practice painting clouds. More practice needed.

Clouds are difficult. Maybe tomorrow I’ll work on them a bit more. I don’t really understand clouds.

Today , when England opens up and let’s the virus spread I read that Italy has now vaccinated over half the population and is on track to achieve herd immunity by vaccine by the end of September. That will include teenagers.

I hope that will happen, but at the very least they are trying.

Not much happened otherwise today except for emailing an old friend and thinking how even when you haven’t seen a good old friend in years it’s possible just to pick up where you left off.

Have an appointment to get my eyes tested tomorrow so will need to practice the Italian alphabet again.

But for now after completing 2 paintings today I will enjoy wine time.
