I think that there was part of me thinking that something would happen and I wouldn’t be able to go.
But I’m here and I have the apartment to myself ….at least for now.
It was lovely to get a lift right to the airport this morning. Leaving at 9am instead of 6am was luxury.
The airport was incredibly busy and there wasn’t even time to go to the toilet. All my organisation worked out well.
Other than walking to the wrong end of the airport I managed to get the airport bus using my Italian bank card. ( only the 3d time I’ve used it.)
I was going to walk into the centre from the railway station, but after 100mtrs I decided my bags were too heavy. I got a taxi. Less than 12 euros.
So now I knew where I was staying ,but couldn’t check in for 2 hours.
I carefully took photos so that I could find my way back and found an empty cafe where I had some lunch and a coffee.
The time passed slowly, but eventually it was 4pm and I managed to get my keys from the safe on the door.
Once I had worked out which room I was staying in I unpacked.
The apartment is perfect for me.
I’m sitting in the kitchen writing this.
I’ve been out and bought wine and polpetta.
Tomorrow I need to find a proper supermarket and probably a Chinese shop and then I can start living here.
Can’t believe I did it!!
Wine time. Cheers 🍷🍷

Tomorrow I might explore some more, but today I was concerned that I’d be able to find my way home.
